2011 Summer Horseback All PVR Camps run Mon-
Horsemanship 1 June 13th-17th ~ July 11th-15th ~ Aug. 8th-12th ~ Aug. 15th-19th Learn essential horsemanship principles and put them into practice as you safely care for and handle horses on the ground. Halter, lead, tie, groom & tack your own steed. Study parts of the horse and riding equipment. And of course, spend hours in arena and on the trail refining your ability to confidently control a horse through the trot. Led by Alexis Schultz
Horsemanship 2 June 27th-July 1st ~ July 25th-29th ~ Aug.15th-19th
Since you know basic care and tacking skills, we can spend extra time in the barn helping to care for the horses and even more time on your riding skills. It’s also time to study horse behavior, gaits, colors and breeds. Be prepared to ride without stirrups, learn to post the trot and maybe even get a taste of the lope! Trotting confidently on the trail and steadily working patterns at this gait are the goals for this camp. Led by Alexis Schultz
Horsemanship 3 August 1st-5th
And just when you thought you knew everything about horses… Get ready to give your fellow campers a “leg-up”, practice transitions through the canter, identify your “leads” and get a chance to ride bareback. Let’s learn more about the different riding disciplines, horse breeds, types & equipment. Advanced methods of care such as bathing, clipping, braiding and blanketing will all be presented. Led by Alexis Schultz
English Riding July 18th-22nd Curious about the skills needed to complete a basic dressage test or even jump a small fence? There’s more to it than meets the eye! Get ready to get serious about form and function, balance and beat, control and class. *All campers must be proficient in all Horsemanship 1 content to participate in this camp* Led by Jessica Stemmler
